the Czech Parliament Chamber of Deputies Speaker Markéta Pekarová Adamová in the chamber of the Legislative Yuan

A full text of President You’s introduction follows:

Yuan sitting announcement. Before I give the floor to Speaker Adamová, please allow me to introduce this outstanding stateswoman.

A stateswoman full of charisma with abundant experiences and exceptional capability, Speaker Adamová served as Prague city councilor. As the speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, she is also the leader of TOP09.  She has experiences in local and central government and political party. As the second woman speak as we as the youngest speaker of the Czech Parliament Chamber of Deputies in the history, she is a role model for women to participate in public affairs and sets a good example for promoting gender equality. It gives me a privilege to say that she is also the first woman speaker from a non-diplomatic ally to deliver a keynote speech in the chamber of the Legislative Yuan in the history of Taiwan.

Undaunted of big power, Speaker Adamová insists in leading a delegation to visit Taiwan. Her leadership is characterized by taking concrete actions and defend the belief of freedom and democracy. She expresses the Czech support to Taiwan with actions to demonstrate our rock solid relations. She indeed is the youngest and capable democracy advocate. Before she visited Taiwan, she stated that she was honored to take the lead among European countries to establish closer relations with Taiwan. She encouraged other western countries to follow the steps. On behalf of the Legislative Yuan of the Republic of China (Taiwan), please allow me to express my utmost respect to H.E. Speaker Adamová for her perseverance, courage and leadership.
