Deputy Secretary-General Chang Attends the Inauguration of Taiwan-Turkey Parliamentary Amity Association

On March 8, 2024, Deputy Secretary-General Chang Yu-jung of the Legislative Yuan attended at 11 a.m. the inauguration of Taiwan-Turkey Parliamentary Amity Association, convened by Legislator Lai Hui-yuan. Also in attendance were Legislators Lin Chu-yin, Wan Mei-ling, Wang Mei-hui, Tsai Yi-yu, Chen Ying, Wang Cheng-hsu, Kuo Yu-ching, Chen Kuan-ting, Loh Mei-ling, Ho Hsin-chun, Chung Chia-pin, Chen Chun-yu, Chang  Chi-kai, Lin Yueh-chin, and Lin I-chin; Deputy Foreign Minister Kelly Hsieh Wu-chiao; Representative Muhammed Berdibek of Turkish Trade Office in Taipei.

The inauguration commenced under the addresses from Convener Lai and Legislator Lin Chu-yin, followed by a remark by Deputy Secretary-General Chang on behalf of the Legislative Yuan. Chang extended his gratitude to Convener Lai for forming this Association, which could serve as a platform with more flexible approaches to strengthen the bilateral relations that are mutually beneficial to both Taiwan and Turkey. It is believed that the launch of the Association can add to parliamentary diplomacy in substantial ways. Should there be any administrative support required, the Legislative Yuan will spare no effort to assist. In closing, Deputy Secretary-General Chang wished good health and great fortune to the legislators and guests present, as well as a success to the inauguration.

Later on, remarks were given by Deputy Foreign Minister Hsieh and Turkey's Representative Berdibek. The event concluded after 30 minutes with a group photo and the passing of the organizational charter of the Association and the election of its president and vice presidents.
