立法院韓國瑜院長於本(4月3)日上午10時在江啟臣副院長、葛如鈞委員、張啓楷委員及國際事務處林晨富處長的陪同下,接見「美國在台協會」(AIT)主席羅森伯格(Laura Rosenberger)一行。
Before the meeting, President Han invited Chairperson Rosenberger and four delegation members from the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs of the Department of State and American Institute in Taiwan for group photos. In his remarks, he extended a warm welcome to Chairperson Rosenberger and delegation members to the Legislative Yuan. He thanked them for coming despite the big earthquake today, showing US cordial friendship with the people of Taiwan. He pointed out that in the 11th Legislative Yuan, 41% legislators are women. Among the 113 seats, 55 are newly elected. He highlighted that 72 legislators are the members of Legislative Yuan USA Caucus (LUC), demonstrating cross-party legislators are keen to engage themselves with the United States. He hoped to continue to deepen friendship with members of the US Congress. President Han gave special thanks to President Biden for placing emphasis on the importance of security and peace across the Taiwan Strate in his State of Union Address in March this year. This was an important reassurance to the people of Taiwan. It was also very important for the president-elect Lai and the 23 million of people of Taiwan to see Chairperson Rosenberger visit Taiwan to convey a message of friendship and support for the stability of Taiwan-US relations.
韓院長繼強調,立法院各政黨在有許多場合有政治上的爭辯與攻防,但對於「國防」與「外交」等涉外議題,三黨都有一致共識,請羅森伯格主席向美國政府及立法部門轉達。
President Han continued to emphasize that the three political parties in the Legislative Yuan often debate on political issues but have a consensus on issues related with national defense and foreign affairs. He hoped that Chairperson Rosenberger will relay this message to the US government and Congress.
雙方嗣在媒體離場後進行閉門會談,韓院長續分別介紹出席委員後,雙方就台美關係、台海兩岸議題、提升台灣國防自主能力、高科技產業發展與合作、立法院功能與角色、強化台美國會交流及美中台三方關係等議題深入交換意見,雙方發言踴躍並坦誠交流,歷約一小時,氣氛熱絡友好。此次會晤在韓院長與羅森伯格主席互贈紀念品並再次進行大合照後圓滿結束。
After the press and media left the room, a closed-door meeting was conducted. After President Han introduced attending legislators, both sides exchanged views on Taiwan-US relations and cross-strait issues, enhancement of Taiwan’s national defense autonomy capabilities, high-tech industrial development and cooperation, the functions and roles of the Legislative Yuan, further promotion of parliamentary exchanges between Taiwan and the United States and the relations among the US, China and Taiwan. Both sides had candid discussion and exchange for about an hour in an amicable atmosphere. The meeting was concluded after exchange of gifts and taking group photos again.

At 10 a.m. on April 3, President Han met AIT Chairperson Laura Rosenberger and her delegation. In attendance were Vice President Dr. Johnny C. Chiang, Legislator Ko Ju-chun and Legislator Chang Chi-kai and International Affairs Department Director Kevin C.F. Lin.
