立法院韓國瑜院長於本(4月24)日上午在陳菁徽委員、羅美玲委員、麥玉珍委員、國際事務處林晨富處長，以及僑務委員會阮昭雄副委員長等人陪同下，接見「世界越棉寮華人團體聯合總會及美國越柬寮華人團體回國訪問團」一行38人。
On the morning of April 24, President Daniel K.Y. Han of the Legislative Yuan met with a delegation of 38 members from the World Federation of Chinese Organizations from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos and Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos Chinese Organization of America. In attendance were Legislators Chen Ching-hui, Loh Mei-ling, Mai Yu-chen, International Affairs Department Director Kevin C.F. Lin, and Deputy Minister of the Overseas Community Affairs Council Ruan Jhao-syong.
韓院長首先代表立法院誠摯歡迎「世界越棉寮華人團體聯合總會及美國越柬寮華人團體回國訪問團」的所有僑領「回家」，他表示大家對於中華民國的情感和支持早已超越了言語，每年雙十國慶，許多旅居各國的越棉（柬）寮僑胞都會組團回來台灣，這就是僑胞們支持和熱愛對中華民國的表現。特別令他感動的是，各位僑領長期以來對中華民國(台灣)這個「家」的關心與愛護，以及他們在全球各地的種種善行義舉，共同發揮愛和慈悲的力量，將台灣的溫暖傳遞到世界不同角落。
President Han warmly welcomed all the overseas community leaders from the delegation "back home," expressing that everyone's emotional attachment and support for the Republic of China (Taiwan) has surpassed words. He noted that every year during the Double Tenth National Day celebrations, many Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Laotian overseas compatriot groups return to Taiwan, demonstrating their support and love for the Republic of China (Taiwan).President Han was particularly moved by the long-term care and affection shown by the overseas community leaders for Taiwan, as well as their various charitable deeds worldwide, which collectively demonstrate the power of love and compassion, spreading Taiwan's warmth to different parts of the world.
韓院長繼稱，立法院是中華民國最高民意殿堂，所有立法委員的工作，就是要回應人民的託付和期望。院長回憶道過往的自己年輕氣盛，當立法委員時問政風格犀利，如今身為院長，心中的想法逐漸轉變，特別是本屆國會三黨不過半的局勢，大家在若干內政特定議題可能意見相左、時有爭辯，但所有立法委員在國家整體利益的立場上必定是一致的，都朝著讓中華民國更加進步的方向一起努力，此舉即充分展現了台灣自由民主的真諦。
President Han highlighted that the Legislative Yuan is the pinnacle of public opinion in the Republic of China (Taiwan), and the primary duty of all legislators is to respond to the trust and expectations of the people. The president reminisced about his younger, more assertive self when he served as a legislator, adopting a sharp style in interpellating policies. Now as the president, his mindset has gradually changed. There may be disagreements on certain domestic policy issues, especially in the current situation where none of the three parties holds a majority in this legislative session. However, all legislators are united in the national interest and work together to progress the Republic of China (Taiwan) towards a better future, fully demonstrating the true essence of Taiwan's freedom and democracy.
韓院長強調，大家在世界各地的卓越表現有目共睹，台僑們不僅是台灣堅靱生命力在海外的延續，更是政府和人民的重要支柱；每位僑胞都像一顆種子，到了異國他鄉埋入土壤後成長茁壯，持續發光發熱並譜出了可歌可泣的動人故事。院長最後表示，大家今天一同齊聚在台灣這個溫暖的家，此場景實屬難得，我們都一樣深愛著自由民主的台灣，也期待在今年雙十國慶能再度與大家見面。
President Han further underscored the outstanding performances of overseas Taiwanese communities worldwide, highlighting that they are not only a continuation of Taiwan's resilience abroad but also important pillars of the government and people. He likened each overseas compatriot to a seed, which grows and thrives when planted in foreign lands, continuing to shine and create touching stories. President Han concluded by expressing how rare and heartwarming it is for everyone to gather in Taiwan, the warm home for all, expressing deep love for free and democratic Taiwan. He looked forward to meeting everyone again during this year's Double Tenth National Day celebrations.
「美國越柬寮華人團體」羅明團長代表致詞時首先感謝韓院長及三黨團代表撥冗會晤訪團，對於今日能夠「回家」與韓院長見面，訪團成員都備感榮幸。他強調自己雖然是越南人，但與生活在台灣這片土地的所有人一樣，都嚮往自由民主，所以他一直深深被台灣吸引，因為台灣不僅有著成熟的民主，還有親切可愛的民族特性。他祝福中華民國國運昌隆，並稱將繼續堅定支持自由民主的台灣。
Luo Ming, Head of the Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos Chinese Organization of America delegation, expressed gratitude to President Han and representatives from the three party caucuses for taking the time to meet with the visiting delegation. He conveyed the honor felt by all members of the delegation for being able to “return home” and meet with President Han today. Director Luo emphasized that although he is of Vietnamese descent, like all those living in Taiwan, he aspires to freedom and democracy. He expressed deep admiration for Taiwan's mature democracy and its warm and amiable national character. He wished for the prosperity of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and pledged his continued firm support for a free and democratic Taiwan.
雙邊交流時，羅美玲委員表示她是馬來西亞第三代華人，與今日到訪的僑領們有著更親近的感覺，她強調每當台灣發生重大事故時，不論是高雄氣爆或是台南、花蓮震災，海外僑胞都在第一時間慷慨解囊，伸出援手、對此她表達最深的敬意和感謝；陳菁徽委員除感謝僑領們積極為本(4)月初的花蓮震災募集善款外，更提到因近年來我國與東南亞國家的關係越趨緊密，因此她已於日前成立「中華民國與東南亞地區國會議員聯誼會」，盼藉由聯誼會的平台持續推動國會外交、推進與東南亞國家各領域的交流，以深化雙邊合作與友好關係；麥玉珍委員則先用廣東話及越南語向大家問好，並表示很開心能與旅居各國的越柬寮華僑在立法院齊聚一堂，民眾黨也相當重視海外華僑的相關政策和福祉。她既是越南人、也是華人，希望自己能成為世界華人與立法院的橋樑，協助深化華人彼此間的聯繫與情誼。
During the bilateral exchange, Legislator Loh Mei-ling mentioned that she is a third-generation ethnic Chinese Malaysian. She felt a closer connection with the overseas community leaders visiting today. She expressed her deepest respect and gratitude for the fact that whenever significant accidents occur in Taiwan, such as the gas explosion in Kaohsiung or the earthquakes in Tainan and Hualien, overseas compatriots always generously offer assistance and extend a helping hand immediately. In addition to expressing gratitude to the overseas community leaders for their active fundraising efforts for the earthquake in Hualien earlier this April, Legislator Chen Ching-hui mentioned the increasingly close relationship between Taiwan and Southeast Asian countries in recent years. Therefore, she has recently established the Taiwan-Southeast Asia Parliamentary Friendship Association, hoping to use the association as a platform to continue promoting parliamentary diplomacy, advancing exchanges in various fields with Southeast Asian countries, and deepening bilateral cooperation and friendly relations. Legislator Mai Yu-chen greeted everyone in Cantonese and Vietnamese, expressing her happiness to gather with overseas ethnic Chinese from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos at the Legislative Yuan. She highlighted that the People First Party also highly values policies and welfare related to overseas ethnic Chinese. As both Vietnamese and ethnic Chinese, she hopes to become a bridge between the global ethnic Chinese community and the Legislative Yuan, assisting in deepening the connections and friendships among ethnic Chinese people worldwide.
韓院長接續邀請「世界越棉寮華人團體聯合總會」北美秘書長宋振標團長簡短致詞，會晤歷約40分鐘，氣氛輕鬆愉快，最後院長偕出席委員與訪團大合影並互贈紀念品，為此次活動畫下圓滿的句點。
President Han then invited the delegation head Song Chen-biao, Secretary-General of the World Federation of Chinese Organizations from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos North America Branch, to deliver a brief speech. The meeting lasted about 40 minutes, and the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. Finally, President Han and the attending legislators took a group photo with the delegation and exchanged souvenirs, marking the successful conclusion of the event.
