立法院張裕榮副秘書長於本（9月3）日下午在國際事務處林晨富處長陪同下，接見「美國東南地區州議會領袖訪問團」一行10人。
On the afternoon of September 3, Deputy Secretary-General Chang Yu-Jung of the Legislative Yuan, accompanied by Director Kevin C.F. Lin of the Department of International Affairs, warmly received a delegation of 10 U.S. Southeastern State Legislative Leaders.
張副秘書長首先代表韓國瑜院長歡迎美國東南地區州議會領袖們來訪，他表示「有朋自遠方來，不亦樂乎！」，今天非常高興美國東南地區州議會的領袖不遠千里蒞臨立法院訪問。
Deputy Secretary-General Chang first extended a welcome on behalf of Legislative Yuan President Daniel K.Y. Han, expressing delight at the delegation's visit. Quoting a Chinese proverb, he stated, "Tis a great joy to welcome friends from afar," and noted how pleased he was to host a delegation that has traveled great distances to visit Taiwan.
張副秘書長強調，他特別感謝訪賓持續地支持台灣，不僅推動州議會通過友台決議案、致函「世界衛生大會」（WHA）支持台灣參與，甚至在各州舉辦台美關係座談會，各項堅定的挺台行動令他十分感動，因此他要向訪賓致上最誠摯的謝意。
Chang emphasized his deep appreciation for the delegation's ongoing support for Taiwan, which includes helping their state legislatures pass pro-Taiwan resolutions, writing letters to the World Health Assembly (WHA) in support of Taiwan’s participation, and organizing Taiwan-U.S. relations forums in their respective states. He expressed sincere gratitude for these steadfast efforts.
張副秘書長續表示，美國東南地區是全美汽車及電動車產業的發展重鎮，具有無與倫比的優勢，而台灣則具備完整的電動車供應鏈，且去年台灣計有16家電動車相關廠商前往北卡羅來納州進行商業考察，他相信雙邊的合作深具潛力。最後，張副秘書長再次代表立法院歡迎各位訪賓，也預祝訪團本次行程圓滿順利。
He continued by highlighting the economic potential for collaboration between Taiwan and the southeastern U.S. states, particularly in the electric vehicle (EV) industry. The southeastern U.S. is a hub for the automotive and EV industries, while Taiwan has a comprehensive EV supply chain. He mentioned that last year, 16 Taiwanese EV-related companies visited North Carolina for business exploration, and he firmly believes in the great potential for cooperation between the two regions. In conclusion, Chang once again welcomed the delegation and wished them a successful visit.
「美國東南地區州議會領袖訪問團」團長史岱佛（Bertram Robert Stivers II）議長致詞感謝立法院的熱情接待，並表示期待台美關係從地方至中央政府，深化彼此的交流合作，持續強化台美雙邊關係。接續由訪賓依序自我介紹後，張副秘書長感謝訪團中有多位「美東南州議會台灣連線」成員，期盼訪賓未來在東南地區州議會持續協助深化台美友好合作及夥伴關係。本次會晤在雙方互贈禮品及合影後，繼由國際事務處人員陪同訪賓導覽議場，期間林處長與訪團成員就與立法院相關議題廣泛交換意見，氣氛友好愉快，參訪歷約60分鐘圓滿結束。
In response, delegation leader Bertram Robert Stivers II, Kentucky Senate President, thanked the Legislative Yuan for its warm reception. He expressed his eagerness to see Taiwan-U.S. relations grow deeper at all levels, from local to national governments, and to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation. Following self-introductions from the delegation members, Deputy Secretary-General Chang extended his gratitude to the many members of the Southeastern State Legislative Taiwan Caucus present, hoping they would continue to support Taiwan in their respective legislatures. The meeting concluded with a mutual exchange of gifts and a group photo. The delegation was then given a tour of the Legislative Chamber, during which Director Lin and the members discussed various topics related to the Legislative Yuan in a friendly and engaging atmosphere. The hour-long visit ended on a positive note.
