立法院韓國瑜院長於本（11月11）日下午在國民黨林倩綺委員、民進黨王正旭委員、民眾黨吳春城委員及國際事務處楊芳苓副處長，以及僑務委員會張良民主任秘書及蘇上傑專門委員陪同下，接見「金山灣區中華民國國慶委員會回國訪問團」葉雲河主任委員等一行。
On the afternoon of November 11, Legislative Yuan President Daniel K.Y. Han met with a delegation from the National Day Celebration Committee of the S.F. Bay Area led by Chairperson Peter Yun-Ho Yeh. Also in attendance were KMT Legislator Lin Chien-Chi, DPP Legislator Wang Cheng-Hsu, TPP Legislator Wu Chun-Cheng, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Department Yang Fang-Ling, Overseas Community Affairs Council Secretary-General Chang Liang-Min, and Senior Specialist Su Shang-Chieh.
韓院長首先向訪賓表達熱烈歡迎，並偕在場委員與訪賓合影留念。院長提及，儘管國內政黨間平日就各項議題仍有大小爭論，但在支持僑胞方面立場始終一致。今天三黨齊聚一堂，正是中華民國立法院對海外僑胞最誠摯熱情的展現。
President Han first extended a warm welcome to the visiting guests, which was followed by a group photo with the delegation members and legislators present. President Han noted that though there are big and small arguments on various issues across different parties in Taiwan, the unwavering support for overseas compatriots has not changed throughout the years. He added that having the three parties present today demonstrated the Legislative Yuan’s sincerity and warmth toward overseas compatriots.
韓院長續謂，「金山灣區中華民國國慶委員會」自1978年成立至今已有47年，長期致力推動中華民國國慶活動，不僅促進僑胞間的情感聯繫，亦為台美關係注入活力。今（113）年，該委員會在加州聖塔克拉拉縣舉辦的國慶活動吸引近千位賓客參與，充分展現出海外僑界對中華民國的深厚向心力，令他深受感動。韓院長強調，「華僑為革命之母」，海外僑胞雖身處僑居地，始終與母國保持緊密聯繫，如同無形的絲線牽繫著與家鄉的深厚情感。院長進一步指出，儘管本屆立法院三黨均未過半，但立法院在秉持對國家的大愛下，致力求同存異，在第一會期成功通過了45項重要議案，展現出跨黨派合作的成果。未來，立法院將持續作為僑胞最堅強有力的後盾，持續提供支持與協助。
President Han further noted that the National Day Celebration Committee of the S.F. Bay Area has been in existence in 1978, offering services for 47 years. It has been constantly dedicated to promoting National Day celebration activities. Such activities not only deepen the emotional ties among expatriates but also invigorate the diplomatic relations between Taiwan and the U.S. In 2024, National Day events organized by the committee in Santa Clara County, California, drew a crowd of nearly 1,000 participants, which thoroughly showcased overseas compatriots’ profound solidarity toward Taiwan. He felt very much impressed and moved. President Han stressed that overseas compatriots are “the driving force of the revolution.” Despite living overseas, they have always had a close interaction with the motherland, just as if there was an invisible thread binding their hearts to Taiwan. That said, President Han pointed out that though no party holds the majority in the Legislative Yuan this term, all legislators aim to find shared understanding while honoring their diverse perspectives, guided by a commitment to the nation’s well-being. During the first session, 45 important bills were passed, demonstrating the results of cross-party collaboration. The Legislative Yuan will continue to be the strongest support for overseas compatriots, providing constant encouragement and assistance in the future.
「金山灣區中華民國國慶委員會」葉雲河主任委員致詞時表示，感謝韓院長及各位委員百忙中撥冗接見，僑界對中華民國的熱愛與忠誠始終如一，此次訪台的重點在於凝聚共識與力量，期深入瞭解目前國情及未來發展規畫，並與各界交換意見，以利於返美後進一步協助政府推動國民外交。葉主任委員繼表示，他深受韓院長於今年國慶談話所言「中華民國是我們的國；美麗台灣是我們的家；中華文化是我們的根；民主自由是我們的寶」而感動。委員會全體成員熱烈邀請中華民國立法院、僑務委員會及外交部等各級政府官員訪美實地參與僑居地各項活動，親身體會僑界對中華民國的熱愛。葉主任委員繼向韓院長及出席委員展示該委員會所籌辦的重要活動成果影片，並當面邀請韓院長及出席委員出席明（114）年元旦升旗活動。
In his remarks, Chairperson of the National Day Celebration Committee of the S.F. Bay Area delegation, Peter Yun-Ho Yeh, thanked President Han and legislators present for taking the time to meet with the delegation. He added that the overseas community’s love and loyalty toward the Republic of China have remained steadfast, and that the main focus of this visit was to build consensus and strength, and gain an in-depth understanding of the current political landscape and future development plans, as well as exchanging opinions with various sectors. This will enable the overseas community to help the government promote citizen diplomacy upon returning to the U.S. Chairperson Yeh further mentioned he was deeply moved by President Han’s National Day speech when he said that, “The Republic of China is our country, Taiwan is our home, Chinese culture is our roots, and democracy and freedom are our treasures.” All members of the committee warmly invited the Legislative Yuan, the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and officials of all government agencies to visit the U.S. to take part in a wide range of activities in the overseas community. In doing so, they will be able to get a personal taste of how the overseas community loves the Republic of China. Chairperson Yeh then presented a video of all the important events organized by the committee to President Han and legislators in attendance, and invited them to participate in the New Year’s flag-raising ceremony in January 2025.
林倩綺委員強調，初步入會場時即被團員們身著的國旗夾克所深深感動，並提及今年由韓院長擔任國慶籌備委員會主委，將中華民國的元素重新帶到國人面前，喚醒了許多人的愛國情懷。她相信，海外僑胞一定也對此深有同感。
Legislator Lin Chien-Chi emphasized that she was deeply moved by the national flag jackets worn by the delegation members, and noted that as President Han served as the chairperson of the National Day Preparatory Committee, his decision to bring back the Republic of China component in front of the eyes of the Taiwanese has awakened many people’s patriotic sentiment. She believed that overseas compatriots share the same sentiment.
王正旭委員表示，自己過去長期服務於醫療領域，希望未來能就此與僑界加強交流，並感謝僑界長期以來對政府所提供的支持，為我國外交增添極大助力。
Legislator Wang Cheng-Hsu said he used to work in the medical field and looked forward to more exchanges with the overseas community in this area. In addition, he expressed his gratitude for the overseas community’s support, which helps boost Taiwan’s diplomatic efforts.
吳春城委員盛讚「金山灣區中華民國國慶委員會」所舉辦的國慶典禮，並表示在韓院長的領導下，今年的國慶活動取得了極大的成功。他希望藉此機會與訪賓進一步加強交流。
Legislator Wu Chun-Cheng gave high regards for the National Day ceremony organized by the National Day Celebration Committee of the S.F. Bay Area, and mentioned that this year’s National Day celebration activities were a great success under President Han’s leadership. He also hoped to strengthen exchanges with the delegation members through this visit.
韓院長最後表示，台灣的民主成就已經向全世界證明，華人社會同樣能夠擁有成熟的民主制度。他以立法院已有逾兩千位記者登錄為例，向訪賓說明台灣的民主發展正受到全球的高度關注。院長進一步提及，台灣擁有眾多在各領域中表現卓越的世界「隱形冠軍」，從廣為人知的AI產業到鞋襪、燈具等日常用品，台灣以卓越技術為全球華人社群及世界做出許多貢獻，展現出強大的競爭實力。他期望在座的僑胞都能以台灣為榮，持續支持中華民國的發展與繁榮。
Lastly, President Han noted that Taiwan’s democratic achievements have already proven to the world that a Chinese society can have a mature democratic system as well. Using the 2,000-plus journalists registry of the Legislative Yuan as an example, he illustrated how Taiwan’s democratic development has drawn significant attention from the globe. President Han further mentioned that Taiwan is an invisible champion in many areas, including the world-renowned AI industry to daily necessities such as shoes, hats, and lamps. Taiwan has made great contributions to the global overseas Chinese community and the world, boasting strong competitive advantages thanks to its outstanding technology. He hoped that the overseas compatriots present were filled with pride for Taiwan and would remain committed to fostering the nation's development and prosperity.
此次會談歷約40分鐘，氣氛友好愉快，在雙方互贈禮品後圓滿結束。
The meeting lasted about 40 minutes and concluded on a friendly and pleasant note, ending with the exchange of gifts between the two sides.
