立法院副院長江啟臣應北美台商總會邀請，出席在美國邁阿密舉行的開幕式。出席的貴賓包括大會主席陳世修總會長、世界台商總會吳光宜總會長、羅德岱堡市長Dean Trantalis、僑務委員會委員長徐佳青、多位榮譽總會長及國策顧問，及駐邁阿密辦事處周啟宇處長。

Vice President of the Legislative Yuan Johnny C. Chiang attended the opening ceremony of the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce of North America (TCNAA) in Miami at the invitation of the TCNAA. The distinguished guests in attendance included TCNAA President Chen Shih-Hsiu, World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce President Kenneth Wu, Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis, Overseas Community Affairs Council Minister Hsu Chia-Ching, several honorary presidents, national policy advisors, and Director General Chou Chi-Yu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Miami.

江啟臣副院長在致詞中感謝大會的邀請，讓他有機會再次來到美麗的邁阿密參加開幕式。他代表立法院向在海外努力打拼的台商朋友們致上最高的敬意和謝意。

Vice President Chiang thanked the TCNAA for the invitation, which enabled him to visit the beautiful city of Miami once again to participate in the opening ceremony. He expressed the highest respect and gratitude for the hard-working overseas Taiwanese businessmen on behalf of the Legislative Yuan.

他表示，北美地區的美國和加拿大一直以來都是台灣非常重要的貿易夥伴。這些年來雙方的經貿關係持續增強，去年2023年，美國是台灣的第二大貿易夥伴，也是第二大出口市場和第三大進口來源國；台灣則是美國的第八大貿易夥伴、第十三大出口市場和第八大進口來源國。

He noted that the U.S. and Canada, situated in North America, have always been Taiwan’s important trading partners. Over the years, the economic and trade relations between the two sides have constantly improved. In 2023, the U.S. was Taiwan’s second largest trading partner, the second largest export market, and the third largest source of imports. Taiwan is the United States’ eighth largest trading partner, the 13th largest export market, and the eighth largest source of imports.

江啟臣副院長特別指出，今年以來，美國已取代中國大陸，成為台灣最大的出口地。如果再加上加拿大，北美地區絕對是台灣最重要的出口市場。台灣是加拿大在亞太地區的第六大貿易夥伴。去年，雙邊貿易額超過46億美元，並簽署了投資促進與保障協定，顯示雙邊關係持續加強。

Vice President Chiang pointed out that this year, the U.S. has replaced China as Taiwan’s largest export destination. If Canada is added, the North American region is unquestionably Taiwan’s most important export market. Taiwan is Canada’s sixth largest trading partner in the Asia-Pacific region. Last year, bilateral trade exceeded US$ 4.6 billion; in addition, both parties signed an investment promotion and protection agreement, showing that the bilateral relationship is becoming increasingly robust.

他期許各位台商先進，尤其是在美國和加拿大的拓展成果能夠持續累積，讓台商的聲音被聽到、被看到，更重要的是被理解。他希望這樣的聲音能夠在台美、台加之間發揮關鍵力量。

He hoped that overseas Taiwanese businessmen can keep accumulating work achievements, especially in the U.S. and Canada. By doing so, the voices of Taiwanese businessmen will be heard, and more crucially, be understood. He also hoped such voices can play a pivotal role between Taiwan, the U.S., and Canada.

江副院長也強調，台灣因為各位台商的付出，不僅被世界看到，更持續獲得國際社會的支持和關注。特別是近年來，受地緣政治等因素影響，台灣海峽的安全穩定以及區域的繁榮發展受到各界重視，尤其是美國。他希望台商們在各地的影響力，能夠持續讓國際社會關注台灣，進而促進區域的安全與穩定。

Vice President Chiang also emphasized that Taiwan has been able to enhance its visibility around the globe and continue to gain the international community’s support and attention thanks to the efforts of overseas Taiwanese businessmen. In recent years, due to geopolitical factors, the Taiwan Strait’s security and stability, as well as the region’s prosperity and development, have drawn a lot of attention, especially from the U.S. He hoped that the influence of Taiwanese businessmen worldwide will help the international community to focus on Taiwan, thereby fostering security and stability in the region.

在談及近期的國際政經形勢時，江啟臣副院長提到剛結束的美國選舉，新一屆美國政府正在籌組相關人事。他特別恭喜佛羅里達州，因為在近期報導的人事中，佛州地區的參眾議員可能成為未來川普政府的重要人物。他呼籲海外台商朋友們運用自身的人際關係和影響力，持續增強台灣與美國、加拿大之間的關係。

When talking about the current international political and economic situation, Vice President Chiang mentioned the recently concluded U.S. elections, saying that the new U.S. government is now in the process of recruiting relevant personnel. He congratulated the state of Florida because recent news have reported that congress members from Florida are likely to become key figures in Trump’s administration in the near future. He urged overseas Taiwanese businessmen to leverage their personal network and influence to further strengthen the relationship between Taiwan, the U.S., and Canada.

最後，江啟臣副院長表示，在各位台商的努力下，台灣與北美地區不僅在經貿上，還在政治、安全、社會，特別是人民與人民之間的交流，都能夠持續擴大和深化。他期待未來能與台商們共同努力，為台灣創造更美好的未來。

Lastly, Vice President Chiang noted that thanks to the efforts of overseas Taiwanese businessmen, the relationship between Taiwan and the North American region has evolved to become more extensive and profound, affecting not only trade and economic relations but also political, security, and societal interactions, with a notable emphasis on people-to-people exchanges. He looked forward to working together with overseas Taiwanese businessmen to create an even brighter future for Taiwan.
