立法院韓國瑜院長率立法院跨黨派委員慶賀「第60屆美國總統就職」代表團於昨(1月18)日晚間抵達紐約,由駐紐約辦事處公使張麗賢偕同仁接機照料,並獲高規格禮遇通關及維安,超過60位僑胞手持青天白日滿地紅國旗在甘迺迪機場入境大廳熱烈歡迎,代表團此次訪美行程正式展開。
On the evening of January 18, a cross-party delegation led by Legislative Yuan President Daniel K.Y. Han to celebrate the 60th U.S. presidential inauguration arrived in New York, where they were warmly received by Deputy Director-General Chang Li-Shan and her colleagues from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York. The delegation received high-level courtesy during customs clearance and security procedures. More than 60 overseas compatriots enthusiastically welcomed them in the arrival hall of John F. Kennedy International Airport, waving the Republic of China (Taiwan) flag. This marked the official start of the delegation’s visit to the United States.
1月19日上午,韓院長偕代表團成員前往駐紐約辦事處聽取業務簡報,一樓大廳入口處懸掛一幅巨大中華民國國旗,其旁整片牆面則展示國際知名臺灣藝術家林明弘《島嶼生活》畫作,相當吸睛。代表團接續前往參訪「現代藝術博物館」(MOMA),由該館國際處處長Jay Levenson偕同仁簡介導覽重要館藏,包括日本藝術家以科技結合藝術的創作及梵谷、畢卡索、克林姆等歐洲藝術大師的傳世傑作,最後代表團在亨利·馬諦斯(Henry Matisse)於1909年所創Dance及莫內的大型睡蓮畫作前合影,象徵本次代表團團結和諧、一致對外,為台灣拼外交的精神。
On the morning of January 19, President Han and the delegation visited the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York, where they received a briefing on its operations. At the entrance of the first-floor lobby, a large flag of the Republic of China (Taiwan) was displayed alongside a mural titled Island Life by renowned Taiwanese artist Michael Lin, which adorned an entire wall and garnered significant attention. The delegation then proceeded to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), where Jay Levenson, Director of MoMA’s International Program, and his colleagues provided an introduction and guided tour of key collections. These included works by Japanese artists integrating technology with art, as well as masterpieces by European artists such as Van Gogh, Picasso, and Klimt. The tour concluded with the delegation taking a group photo in front of Henri Matisse’s 1909 work Dance and Monet’s large-scale Water Lilies paintings, symbolizing the delegation’s unity and commitment to advancing Taiwan’s diplomatic efforts.
代表團一行於同日下午自紐約搭乘Acela特快車前往華府,駐美國代表處俞大使大㵢偕楊公使懿珊及姜公使森等同仁於華府聯合車站熱烈歡迎。訪團抵達下榻旅館時,現場已有僑胞代表在飯店外歡迎韓院長所率代表團蒞臨。晚間,韓院長率李彥秀委員及葛如鈞委員等代表團成員受邀參加大華府地區僑胞盛大舉行的歡迎晚宴,來自全美各地僑胞逾400人出席共襄盛會。院長抵達會場後立刻受邀上台與大家高歌「我們都是一家人」,繼致詞表示,他一向心心念念海外打拼的鄉親,對於各位僑胞們頂著寒風刺骨的天氣踴躍到場,心中倍感溫暖,尤其感受到僑胞的熱情和對中華民國無私的奉獻,很開心能偕委員及代表團成員在華府與僑胞歡聚。他說明,本次率8位跨黨派委員來到美國慶賀川普總統就職,一切尊重美方安排,並盼傳遞最誠摯的祝福。他以種子比喻海外僑胞心繫中華民國,並準備了限量的立法院版高粱酒供僑胞摸彩及致贈金蛇迎春春聯,最後再次代表立法院及全體國人,向各位僑胞朋友表達最誠摯的謝意,並預祝旅居美國各地的僑親新年快樂,蛇年納福,萬事如意。席間,韓院長與出席僑胞親切互動,氣氛輕鬆愉快,晚宴歷約2小時圓滿結束。
On the afternoon of January 19, the delegation departed from New York to Washington, D.C., aboard the Acela Express. Upon arrival at Washington Union Station, they were warmly received by Ambassador Alexander Tah-Ray Yui, along with Ministers Yang Yi-Shan and Johnson Chiang from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States. At their hotel, additional representatives from the Taiwanese expatriate community greeted President Han and the delegation. In the evening, President Han, accompanied by Legislators Lee Yen-Hsiu and Ko Ju-Chun, attended a grand welcome banquet hosted by the Taiwanese community in the greater Washington, D.C., area. More than 400 overseas compatriots from across the United States participated in the event. Upon arrival, President Han was invited to the stage to sing We Are a Family with the attendees. In his subsequent speech, he expressed his heartfelt care for overseas compatriots and gratitude for their enthusiastic turnout despite the biting cold weather. He emphasized his appreciation for the community’s passion and selfless dedication to the Republic of China (Taiwan) and expressed his joy at reuniting with them in Washington, D.C. President Han explained that he led an eight-member cross-party delegation to the United States to celebrate President Trump’s inauguration, adhering to the arrangements made by the U.S. side, and aimed to convey Taiwan’s sincerest blessings. He likened overseas compatriots to seeds deeply connected to the Republic of China and prepared limited-edition Legislative Yuan Kaoliang liquor for a raffle, as well as presented Spring Festival couplets celebrating the Year of the Snake to the attendees. He concluded by extending, on behalf of the Legislative Yuan and all citizens, his sincerest thanks to the overseas compatriots and wished them a happy New Year, prosperity in the Year of the Snake, and success in all endeavors. Throughout the banquet, President Han engaged warmly with the attendees, fostering a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. The event concluded successfully after approximately two hours.
