立法院韓國瑜院長於本（6月3）日中午在國民黨葛如鈞委員、柯志恩委員、民眾黨張啓楷委員、國際事務處林晨富處長，以及僑務委員會阮昭雄副委員長等人陪同下，於立法院康園餐廳款宴「加州臺灣同鄉聯誼會2025年回臺致敬參訪團」一行。
At noon on June 3, President Daniel K.Y. Han of the Legislative Yuan hosted a luncheon at the Kang-Yuan restaurant of the Legislative Yuan in honor of the 2025 homecoming and tribute delegation from the Taiwan Benevolent Association of California. He was joined by KMT Legislators Dr. Ko Chih-En and Dr. Ko Ju-Chun, TPP Legislator Chang Chi-Kai, International Affairs Department Director Kevin C.F. Lin, and Deputy Minister of the Overseas Community Affairs Council Joshua Jhao-Syong Ruan.
韓院長於致詞時首先歡迎訪賓，表示立法院超越黨派，始終高度重視海外僑胞對國家的付出和貢獻。他強調，僑胞總是在關鍵時刻扮演重要的角色，無論是面對地震等天災，或是近年新冠肺炎疫情，皆義無反顧、踴躍捐輸、積極支援，展現對台灣的深厚鄉情與熱愛。韓院長並憶述，多年前曾於芝加哥唐人街見到中華民國國旗迎風飄揚，感動至深，欽佩僑界在異鄉持續舉辦活動、凝聚認同，構築堅韌的精神力量。
In his remarks, President Han first extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation, stating that the Legislative Yuan, transcending party lines, has always placed great importance on the dedication and contributions of overseas compatriots to the nation. He emphasized that overseas compatriots have consistently played a vital role at critical moments—whether in response to natural disasters such as earthquakes or during the recent COVID-19 pandemic—demonstrating unwavering commitment through generous donations and active support, reflecting their deep affection and enduring bond with Taiwan. President Han also recalled a deeply moving experience from many years ago when he saw the national flag of the Republic of China (Taiwan) proudly waving in Chicago’s Chinatown. He expressed admiration for the overseas Taiwanese community’s unwavering efforts to organize events abroad, foster a shared identity, and build a resilient spirit in a foreign land.
韓院長續謂，面對嚴峻的外交挑戰，臺灣更須仰賴全球僑界的連結與支持，在關鍵時刻發揮舉足輕重的作用。台灣的國防、外交與僑務攸關國家整體利益，朝野應摒棄分歧、攜手合作，方能在國際社會中共同守護臺灣，並讓世界看見臺灣、提升國家安全。韓院長並鼓勵立法院各黨派委員於休會期間積極出訪，與海外僑胞深入交流，傳遞溫暖與關懷，強化情誼與認同。
President Han went on to say that in the face of mounting diplomatic challenges, Taiwan must increasingly rely on the connections and support of overseas Taiwanese communities, whose influence has proven indispensable in critical moments. Taiwan’s national defense, foreign affairs, and overseas compatriot affairs are integral to the nation’s overall interests. He believed that only through setting aside partisan differences and fostering cross-party cooperation can we safeguard Taiwan on the international stage, enhance its global visibility, and strengthen its national security. President Han further encouraged legislators of all parties to actively embark on overseas visits during legislative recesses, which can facilitate profound interactions with overseas Taiwanese communities, allowing legislators to convey warmth and care, and thereby strengthen mutual camaraderie and shared recognition.

President Han further noted that in addition to Taiwan’s internationally competitive technology industry, the tourism and healthcare sectors also hold great potential to become Taiwan’s “Mountains of Protection.” He stated that by integrating resources across healthcare, diplomacy, tourism, and overseas compatriot affairs, Taiwan would be better positioned to expand its international relations and create new avenues for its global engagement. In closing, President Han wished the delegation a safe and successful visit to Taiwan, along with prosperity and good health. He warmly welcomed them to return often and maintain close ties with their homeland.
