立法院江副院長於本（8月28）日晚間在跨黨派之張嘉郡委員、鍾佳濱委員、楊瓊瓔委員、謝衣鳯委員、葛如鈞委員、陳永康委員、鄭正鈐委員、林倩綺委員、許宇甄委員，以及立法院張裕榮副秘書長、各單位正副主管、外交部葛葆萱常務次長等人陪同下，代表韓國瑜院長主持「亞洲太平洋國會議員聯合會」（APPU）第53屆大會立法院長晚宴，熱烈歡迎各國代表團來臺與會，出席貴賓包括友邦吐瓦魯國伊塔雷理（Iakoba Taeia Italeli）議長、馬紹爾群島共和國安利台（David Anitok）參議員、帛琉共和國Secilil Eldebechel參議員、日本山口俊一眾議員、關島穆緹娜（Telo T. Taitague）參議員、北馬里安納群島Celina R. Babauta參議員等各國代表團團長與成員、APPU中央秘書處鈴木榮一大使、多國駐台使節代表，以及法國參議院暨法屬玻里尼亞政要訪問團一行等，逾一百二十人共襄盛會，場面熱絡。
On the evening of August 28, Vice President Dr. Johnny C. Chiang of the Legislative Yuan, representing President Daniel K.Y. Han, hosted the Legislative Yuan banquet for the 53rd General Assembly of the Asian-Pacific Parliamentarians’ Union (APPU). He was joined by cross-party legislators including KMT Legislators Dr. Alice Chang, Dr. Yang Chiung-Ying, Dr. Hsieh Yi-Fong, Dr. Ko Ju-Chun, Adm. Chen Yeong-Kang, Dr. Cheng Cheng-Chien, Dr. Lin Chien-Chi, and Hsu Yu-Chen, DPP Legislator Chung Chia-Pin, as well as Deputy Secretary General Dr. Chang Yu-Jung of the Legislative Yuan, senior officials from various departments, and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Ger Bau-Shuan. Vice President Chiang warmly welcomed delegations from abroad. Distinguished guests included Speaker Iakoba Taeia Italeli of Tuvalu, Senator David Anitok of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Senator Secilil Eldebechel of the Republic of Palau, Member of the House of Representatives Yamaguchi Shunichi of Japan, Senator Telo T. Taitague of Guam, Senator Celina R. Babauta of the Northern Mariana Islands, as well as Secretary-General of the APPU Central Secretariat Ambassador Suzuki Eiichi, diplomatic envoys stationed in Taiwan, and a visiting delegation of senators and political leaders from France and French Polynesia. The banquet brought together more than 120 participants in a lively and convivial atmosphere, underscoring the deepening ties of friendship and cooperation among APPU member parliaments and international partners.
晚宴由國內著名「原舞者舞團」帶來具在地特色之視覺饗宴揭開序幕，舞者們透過精彩表演，呈現我國多元文化面貌，獲得滿堂喝彩，隨後大會司儀邀請江副院長上台致詞。
The banquet commenced with a captivating performance by the renowned Formosa Aboriginal Singing and Dance Troupe, which presented a visually stunning program rich in local cultural elements. Through their brilliant performance, the dancers showcased the diverse cultural heritage of Taiwan, earning resounding applause from the audience. Following the performance, the emcee invited Vice President Chiang to the stage to deliver his remarks.

Vice President Chiang, on behalf of Legislative Yuan President Daniel K.Y. Han and the people of Taiwan, extended a heartfelt welcome to the parliamentary delegations from APPU member states across the Asia-Pacific region for attending the 87th Council Meeting and the 53rd General Assembly. He noted that this year marks the 11th time Taiwan has hosted the APPU Assembly, underscoring its profound significance. Looking back to March 2024, Vice President Chiang mentioned that, following the inauguration of the 11th Legislative Yuan, he led a delegation to Tokyo to attend the 52nd General Assembly, adding that with the strong support of APPU member states, Taiwan successfully secured the hosting rights for this year’s General Assembly. He highlighted that this achievement not only represents a distinguished honor for Taiwan but also marks a new milestone in advancing parliamentary diplomacy under the new Legislative Yuan.
江副院長繼謂，歷經兩天緊湊充實之會議，與會成員對本屆大會議題深度討論及彼此密切交流皆感受深刻，感謝所有與會者踴躍參與、真誠分享，並提供不少獨到見解，不僅增添討論深度，更激盪出許多共鳴，為本屆APPU注入活力與方向，包括區域和平、雙邊及多邊關係、永續繁榮之共同願景等面向，不僅緊扣本屆大會主題，並具體落實了APPU設立之宗旨。
Vice President Chiang went on to note that over the course of two days of intensive and substantive meetings, participants engaged in in-depth discussions and close exchanges on the themes of this year’s General Assembly. He expressed gratitude to all delegates for their active participation, candid sharing, and insightful perspectives, which not only enriched the discussions but also generated widespread resonance. He added that these contributions infused the APPU with renewed vitality and direction, particularly in areas such as regional peace, bilateral and multilateral relations, and the shared vision of sustainable prosperity. He emphasized that these deliberations not only aligned closely with the theme of this year’s General Assembly but also embodied the founding mission of the APPU.

In closing, Vice President Chiang invited all distinguished guests to raise their glasses in appreciation of the delegates present, the APPU Central Secretariat, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and all the teams who contributed to the success of the Assembly. He then welcomed the guests to enjoy local culinary specialties and cultural performances, and extended his best wishes for the successful conclusion of the APPU meetings the following day.
