立法院韓國瑜院長於本（9月24）日上午應邀出席假臺南福爾摩沙遊艇酒店舉辦之世界臺灣商會聯合總會「第31屆年會暨第3次理監事聯席會議」開幕典禮，現場貴賓包括立法院王定宇委員、僑務委員會徐佳青委員長、經濟部何晉滄政務次長、臺南市葉澤山副市長、新竹市邱臣遠代理市長，以及相關部會代表，「世界臺灣商會聯合總會」（以下簡稱「世總」）第31屆吳光宜總會長、謝美香監事長、歷任創會的總會長等，以及來自全球五大洲的臺商代表逾六百人亦參與盛會，冠蓋雲集，場面盛大。
On the morning of September 24, President Daniel K.Y. Han (韓國瑜) of the Legislative Yuan attended the opening ceremony of the 3rd Session of the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce (WTCC) 31st Board of Directors and Supervisors Meeting, held at the Formosa Yacht Resort in Tainan. Distinguished guests included DPP Legislator Dr. Wang Ting-Yu; Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) Minister Hsu Chia-Ching; Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs Ho Chin-Tsang; Tainan Deputy Mayor Yeh Tse-Shan; and Acting Mayor of Hsinchu City Chiu Chen-Yuan, along with representatives from relevant government ministries and agencies. Also in attendance were WTCC 31st-term President Kenneth Wu and Chief Supervisor Hsieh Mei-Hsiang, as well as former WTCC presidents, together with more than 600 Taiwanese business representatives from five continents. The ceremony was well attended and marked by a warm and celebratory atmosphere.

The opening ceremony commenced with the singing of the national anthem, followed by remarks from WTCC President Wu and OCAC Minister Hsu. President Han then delivered remarks on behalf of the Legislative Yuan. He stated that he was pleased to attend the opening ceremony and noted that, after the 11th-term Legislative Yuan convened in February 2024, the “Association of Overseas Taiwanese Businessmen” was established, with Vice President of the Legislative Yuan Dr. Johnny C. Chiang (江啟臣) serving as the Chair and himself as Honorary Chair. He emphasized that the Association serves as a significant cross-party parliamentary platform, building a vital bridge between the Legislative Yuan and Taiwanese businesspeople around the world. President Han stated that the economic development of a country can be observed in its stock market, while its political development depends significantly on its parliament. He stressed that the Legislative Yuan is a steadfast partner of Taiwanese businesses worldwide and warmly invited all businesspeople to feel free to “return home” to exchange views and strengthen connections at any time.

Drawing an analogy from scientific studies of ant colonies, President Han praised Taiwanese businesspeople living across the globe. He noted that whenever Taiwan has faced a need, whether responding to typhoons, major earthquakes in Yunlin, Chiayi, or Hualien, or during the COVID-19 pandemic, Taiwanese businesspeople have consistently been the first to offer generous donations and emergency relief, highlighting that this compassion and readiness to support Taiwan demonstrate the deep bonds and shared commitment that Taiwanese businesspeople hold toward their homeland.
韓院長復指出，當前國際局勢詭譎多變，但臺灣人從過去的「客廳即工廠」到「加工出口區」，乃至後來引進科學園區、創辦臺積電等，用一步一腳印的努力，積累成今日的各項成果，其中的辛勤與奮鬥，都有大家一起攜手走過的足跡。
President Han further pointed out the current complex and shifting international landscape, and recalled Taiwan’s economic journey from home-based manufacturing (“Living Rooms as Factories”), to the establishment of export processing zones, the development of science parks, and the founding of TSMC. He emphasized that today’s achievements were built step by step, through collective effort and determination, a path that Taiwanese businesses around the world have walked together.
