立法院副院長江啟臣今（11月16）日上午代表韓國瑜院長，率跨黨派立委訪問團啟程前往美國及巴拉圭，推動國會外交並加強僑務交流。訪團成員涵蓋朝野三黨，包括國民黨呂玉玲委員、洪孟楷委員、黃健豪委員；民進黨莊瑞雄委員、吳沛憶委員、郭昱晴委員；以及民眾黨張啓楷委員，充分展現立法院在外交議題上跨黨派合作的力量。
Representing Legislative Yuan President Daniel K.Y. Han (韓國瑜), Vice President Dr. Johnny C. Chiang (江啟臣) led a cross-party delegation for a visit to the U.S. and Paraguay, which departed today (Nov 16) and aims to promote congressional diplomacy and exchanges on compatriot affairs. The delegation members comprise legislators of all three parties, including KMT Legislators Lu Yu-Ling, Hung Mong-Kai, and Huang Chien-Hao; DPP Legislators Dr. Chuang Jui-Hsiung, Wu Pei-Yi, and Kuo Yu-Ching; and TPP Legislator Chang Chi-Kai. The party diversity of the delegation showcases the unity of the Legislative Yuan when it comes to diplomatic affairs.
江副院長表示，此行將深化臺美與臺巴關係、強化國際支持，並回應友邦國會的正式邀請。他特別感謝巴拉圭國會參、眾議院的正式邀請，指出「巴拉圭等候我們一年，今日代表韓國瑜院長率跨黨派議員回訪，深具意義」。
Vice President Chiang pointed out that the visit will work to deepen bilateral ties between Taiwan and the U.S. as well as between Taiwan and Paraguay, and will strengthen international support by responding to the formal invitations extended by allied countries’ parliaments. In particular, he thanked Paraguay for the formal invitations from the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, noting that, “Paraguay has been looking forward to our visit for one year. Leading this delegation on behalf of President Han and in response to the invitations has never been more meaningful.”
江副院長強調，臺灣與巴拉圭邦誼逾68年，巴國在多邊場合長期支持臺灣，是我國南美洲最堅定盟友，此次跨黨派代表團訪問將進一步鞏固雙邊友誼，期間將與國會領袖及政要會晤，並視察雙邊在教育、醫療、農業等領域的合作成果，並提升立法院國會外交的實質效益，持續強化臺灣與理念相近國家的合作關係。
Vice President Chiang reiterated that Taiwan and Paraguay are celebrating 68 years of friendship. Having supported Taiwan in multilateral occasions over the years, Paraguay is our most ardent ally in South America. The visit will further fortify the bilateral ties, during which, parliament leaders and officials will meet and inspect the results of educational, medical, and agricultural collaborations, thereby enhancing the substantive benefits of congressional diplomacy and strengthening the cooperative relationship between Taiwan and like-minded countries.
訪團另將赴美國底特律出席北美洲臺灣商會聯合總會活動，並拜會聯邦及地方政要，與臺商及產業代表交流，關注臺美合作與經貿議題。
The delegation will also attend events hosted by the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce of North America (TCCNA), meeting with high-ranking federal and local officials and engaging with Taiwanese businesses and industry representatives as part of Taiwan’s concerted efforts in boosting Taiwan-U.S. cooperation as well as economic and trade issues.
