立法院江啟臣副院長於本（5月5）日中午在國民黨牛煦庭委員、民進黨賴惠員委員、民眾黨陳清龍總召及外交部甄國清主任秘書的陪同下，接見比利時聯邦眾議院議員團。
At noon on May 5, Vice President Dr. Johnny C. Chiang (江啟臣) of the Legislative Yuan, accompanied by KMT Legislator Niu Hsu-Ting, DPP Legislator Lai Hui-Yuan, Convener of the TPP Legislative Yuan Caucus Legislator Chen Ching-Lung, and Secretary-General Daniel Kuo-Ching Chen of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received a delegation from the Belgian Chamber of Representatives.
江副院長首先代表立法院向在場貴賓表達誠摯歡迎，並逐一介紹今日出席之跨黨派委員。他指出，比利時首都布魯塞爾為歐盟及「北大西洋公約組織」（NATO）等重要國際組織總部所在地，在歐洲具關鍵影響力，並感謝比利時長期支持台灣參與「世界衛生大會」（WHA），期盼未來持續支持台灣有意義參與各項國際組織。
Vice President Chiang first extended a sincere welcome to the distinguished guests on behalf of the Legislative Yuan and introduced the legislators from different parties in attendance. He noted that Brussels, the capital of Belgium, is home to the headquarters of the European Union, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and other major international organizations, giving Belgium a key role in Europe. He also thanked Belgium for its long-standing support for Taiwan’s participation in the World Health Assembly (WHA), and expressed hope that Belgium would continue to support Taiwan’s meaningful participation in international organizations.
江副院長進一步表示，他近年來已接待過許多來自歐洲各國議會的訪問團，面對台灣國際空間受限，國會外交更顯重要。台灣與歐洲雖地理距離遙遠，卻共享民主與人權價值，期盼透過常態化交流，持續深化彼此理解與互信，推動台比關係穩健發展。他並祝福訪團此行收穫豐碩，盼未來有更多比利時國會議員訪台。
Vice President Chiang further stated that in recent years, he has received many parliamentary delegations from European countries. As Taiwan continues to face constraints in its international space, parliamentary diplomacy has become even more important. Although Taiwan and Europe are geographically far apart, they are bound by shared values of democracy and human rights. He expressed hope that through regular exchanges, the two sides would continue to deepen mutual understanding and trust, and further promote the steady development of Taiwan-Belgium relations. He also wished the delegation a fruitful visit and looked forward to welcoming more members of the Belgian Parliament to Taiwan in the future.
團長孔帕尼（Pierre Kompany）眾議員感謝副院長及各位委員撥冗接待。他表示，比利時與台灣同為重視人權價值的小型國家，比利時位於歐洲樞紐，台灣則為亞洲民主典範，雙方皆展現小國亦能發揮重要影響力，為區域與國際社會作出具體貢獻。
Delegation leader MP Pierre Kompany thanked Vice President Chiang and the legislators for taking the time to receive the delegation. He stated that Belgium and Taiwan are both smaller countries that place great importance on human rights. Belgium is located at the heart of Europe, while Taiwan stands as a model of democracy in Asia. Both sides have shown that countries of modest size can still exert meaningful influence and make concrete contributions to their regions and to the international community.
牛煦庭委員歡迎訪團到訪，並表示台灣與比利時共享民主、自由與人權等核心價值，樂見雙方深化交流。他亦推薦訪團體驗街頭巷尾的台式早餐，感受在地文化。
Legislator Niu welcomed the delegation to Taiwan and stated that Taiwan and Belgium share the core values of democracy, freedom, and human rights. He was pleased to see the two sides deepen their exchanges. He also recommended that the delegation try Taiwanese breakfasts in local neighborhoods and experience local culture firsthand.
賴惠員委員表示，台灣與比利時同樣致力於深化民主價值，期盼友誼長存。她並分享過去訪問比利時的經驗，對當地的啤酒與巧克力印象深刻，並推薦訪團品嚐台灣珍珠奶茶，及前往其家鄉台南科學園區參訪，體驗不同於台北的在地風貌。
Legislator Lai stated that Taiwan and Belgium are both committed to strengthening democratic values, and expressed hope that the friendship between the two sides would continue to flourish. She also shared her past experience of visiting Belgium, where she was deeply impressed by the country’s beer and chocolate. She recommended that the delegation try Taiwan’s bubble tea and visit the Tainan Science Park in her hometown to experience a different side of Taiwan beyond Taipei.
陳清龍總召指出，台灣與比利時同為小型國家，期盼台灣亦能如比利時般，在區域中發揮關鍵影響力，並期待透過更密切的國會交流，持續促進雙邊關係與情誼。
Legislator Chen noted that Taiwan and Belgium are both relatively small countries. He expressed hope that Taiwan, like Belgium, could play a key role in its region, and looked forward to closer parliamentary exchanges that would continue to strengthen bilateral relations and friendship.
雙方隨後就國會運作、女性參政、政策協商過程等議題，進行廣泛且深入的意見交換。此次拜會歷約1小時，氣氛輕鬆愉快；雙方於互贈紀念品及合影後，結束此次交流。(2026/05/05)
The two sides then engaged in broad and in-depth exchanges of views on parliamentary operations, women’s political participation, and policymaking and consultation processes. The meeting lasted approximately one hour and was conducted in a warm and cordial atmosphere. It concluded with an exchange of commemorative gifts and a group photo. (2026/05/05)
