立法院韓國瑜院長率跨黨派立委團赴法國及英國推動國會外交首日 Day 1 of the cross-party legislative delegation led by Legislative Yuan President Daniel K.Y. Han to France and the United Kingdom to promote congressional diplomacy
立法院韓國瑜院長率跨黨派訪問團於今（5月10）日上午抵達法國，展開此趟國會外交行程。
On the morning of May 10, the cross-party delegation led by Legislative Yuan President Daniel K.Y. Han (韓國瑜) arrived in France to begin its congressional diplomacy visit.
訪團一行抵達巴黎後，由駐法國代表處郝培芝大使接機並為訪團進行午餐簡報會，說明整體行程規畫與重點工作安排。午餐結束，隨即在本次邀訪單位—法國參議院友台小組精心安排下，前往承載法國深厚人文歷史、亦是現今法國國會舉行聯席會議場所的凡爾賽宮參訪，在導覽人員的解釋下，帶領訪團深入了解這個珍貴的法國文化遺產。
Upon arriving in Paris, the delegation was received at the airport by Representative Hao Pei-Chih of the Taipei Representative Office in France, who hosted a luncheon briefing to outline the overall itinerary and key work arrangements for the trip. After the luncheon, through the thoughtful arrangements of the French Senate’s Taiwan Friendship Group, the host organization for this visit, the delegation visited the Palace of Versailles, a site steeped in France’s rich cultural and historical heritage that also serves as the venue for joint sessions of the French Parliament. With explanations provided by guides, the delegation gained a deeper understanding of this precious French cultural heritage.
晚間則由立法院設宴款待旅法僑台商及僑界代表，藉此向長期深耕當地、支持台灣外交與國際連結之僑胞表達誠摯感謝，肯定其等在促進台法民間交流與經貿合作上所扮演的重要角色。
In the evening, the Legislative Yuan hosted a banquet for Taiwanese businesspeople in France and representatives of the overseas Taiwanese community to express its sincere gratitude to overseas compatriots who have long been active in local communities and supported Taiwan’s diplomacy and international engagement, while acknowledging their important role in promoting people-to-people exchanges and economic and trade cooperation between Taiwan and France.
院長致詞時特別感謝「世界台商總會」蔡國泰名譽總會長、黃行德國策顧問、「旅法印支華人會館」江基民會長及各位僑界朋友，在假日中踴躍出席今晚的相聚，並一一介紹在場的三黨委員，並強調此行為其擔任立法院長以來首次訪問歐洲，第一站便來到巴黎，為各位辛苦打拼的僑胞朋友帶來娘家的問候與支持。
In his remarks, President Han especially thanked Honorary President Tsai Kuo-Tai of the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce, National Policy Advisor Huang Hsing-Te, President Chiang Chi-Min of the Indochinese Association in France, and members of the overseas compatriot community for taking time during the weekend to attend the evening gathering. He also introduced the legislators in attendance from the three political parties and emphasized that this was his first visit to Europe as President of the Legislative Yuan. By choosing Paris as his first stop, he brought greetings and support from home to overseas compatriots who have worked hard abroad.
韓院長指出，台灣土地只占全球萬分之三、人口占千分之三，但工業產品卻占全世界產能的百分之三。台灣在國際亮眼的表現，是全體國人與海外僑胞共同努力的成果。院長特別介紹台灣現有五大優勢：最先進的高科技半導體及晶圓代工、優質的醫療技術與全民健保制度、各行各業隱形冠軍的中小企業、舒適的生活與良好的治安，以及擁有百分之百自由民主的公民社會。
President Han pointed out that although Taiwan accounts for only 0.03% of the world’s land area and 0.3% of its population, it represents 3% of global industrial production capacity. Taiwan’s outstanding performance on the international stage, he said, is the result of the joint efforts of all Taiwanese people at home and compatriots abroad. President Han then highlighted Taiwan’s five major advantages: cutting-edge high-tech semiconductor and wafer foundry industries; high-quality medical technology and the universal health insurance system; small and medium-sized enterprises that are hidden champions across various sectors; a comfortable living environment and excellent public safety; and a civil society that enjoys full freedom and democracy.
