立法院韓國瑜院長率跨黨派立法委員於本（5月13）日下午抵達英國，駐英代表處姚金祥大使與多位旅英僑胞於機場熱情迎接訪團一行，為英國行程揭開序幕。
Legislative Yuan President Daniel K.Y. Han (韓國瑜) led a cross-party delegation of legislators to the United Kingdom (UK) on the afternoon of May 13. Taiwan’s Representative to the UK, Ambassador Vincent Chin-Hsiang Yao, together with members of the Taiwanese community in the UK, warmly welcomed the delegation at the airport, marking the beginning of the delegation’s UK itinerary.

In the evening, President Han and the delegation hosted a banquet on behalf of the Legislative Yuan for members of the Taiwanese community and Taiwanese business representatives in the UK. Nearly 80 people attended the event.
韓院長致詞時一一介紹本次隨團出訪的跨黨派立法委員，並向長年在海外打拚、支持台灣的旅英僑胞表達誠摯感謝。院長表示，在海外見到來自台灣的僑胞，內心相當感動，許多旅外台商當年從台灣出發時，往往只帶著一張單程機票，憑藉堅毅精神在異鄉落地生根，歷經數十年努力，逐漸在世界各地發光發熱。
In his remarks, President Han introduced each member from the cross-party delegation and expressed his sincere gratitude to Taiwanese compatriots in the UK for their long-standing support for Taiwan and their hard work abroad. President Han said he was deeply moved to meet members of the Taiwanese community overseas. Many Taiwanese businesspeople, he noted, left Taiwan years ago with little more than a one-way ticket, relying on their perseverance to put down roots in foreign lands. After decades of hard work, they have gradually made their mark around the world.

President Han noted with emotion that 19th-century Britain Empire was once known as “the empire on which the sun never sets.” Today, Taiwanese businesspeople, through their hard work across the world’s five continents and seven seas, have shown that Taiwan’s entrepreneurial spirit also reaches every corner of the globe, earning admiration through their resilience and strength. President Han went on to note that in recent years, the Legislative Yuan has received more than 6,000 visitors from around the world, demonstrating the international community’s growing attention to Taiwan. This, he said, is the result of the collective efforts of all the people of Taiwan.
韓院長強調，台灣能在高科技、中小企業、民主自由、醫療健保等領域獲得世界肯定，旅外僑胞的長期支持亦功不可沒。在台灣遇到困難或變故時，僑胞總是第一時間站出來伸出援手，院長也回憶起在新冠疫情期間，海外僑胞曾即時慷慨捐贈高雄200萬片口罩協助防疫，充分展現彼此如同家人般的深厚情誼。
President Han emphasized that Taiwan’s achievements in high technology, small and medium-sized enterprises, democracy and freedom, and medical care and health insurance have won worldwide recognition, and that the long-term support of overseas Taiwanese communities has also played a significant role. Whenever Taiwan faces difficulties or unexpected challenges, members of the overseas community are always among the first to step forward and lend a helping hand. President Han also recalled that during the COVID-19 pandemic, overseas Taiwanese generously donated two million face masks to Kaohsiung to support its epidemic prevention efforts, fully demonstrating the deep bonds between Taiwan and its overseas communities, like those of a family.
