He also added that in the face of growing threats and challenges, Taiwan continues to strengthen its national defense capabilities and enhance societal resilience, while also seeking closer cooperation with like-minded partners worldwide to jointly safeguard democracy and freedom, and contribute to the maintenance of a FOIP.
Deputy Secretary General Chang expressed his appreciation to Legislator Chiu for initiating the Legislative Yuan FOIP Promotion Association, noting that the initiative demonstrates Taiwan’s importance and its commitment to the development of the Indo-Pacific region. He stated that by standing united and leveraging parliamentary diplomacy, Taiwan can deepen relationships and substantive cooperation with democratic partners and jointly advance the FOIP vision. He added that should the association require any administrative assistance in the future, the Legislative Yuan will provide its full support. He concluded by wishing all attendees good health and success in the association’s endeavors.
