On the morning of April 23, Legislative Yuan President Daniel K.Y. Han (韓國瑜) met with a delegation led by Executive Director Marie-Louise Hannan of the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei. Executive Director Hannan stated that this was her second posting to Taiwan. She expressed her gratitude for the Legislative Yuan’s long-standing support for Taiwan-Canada relations and her hope that both sides would continue expanding and deepening bilateral exchanges and collaboration in multiple fields. In response, President Han extended a sincere welcome and noted that Canada enjoys many strengths and is deeply admired by the people of Taiwan. Building on the existing foundation, he said, the Legislative Yuan will continue to cooperate with the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei to jointly further deepen Taiwan-Canada relations.
During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged extensive views on the global landscape, domestic political developments, education exchanges, and the promotion of Taiwan-Canada cooperation in agriculture and pharmaceutical manufacturing. The meeting lasted approximately 40 minutes and concluded successfully after President Han presented a gift box of Taiwanese fruit and posed for a commemorative photo with Executive Director Hannan.
